------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. How long have you been a member of Chicago Fit Performance?

I started with a Transformation Challenge in January of 2014, so almost 2 years.

2. Tell us about your fitness background?

I’ve always been pretty athletic, but rarely really fit. I played baseball growing up and in college, and then rugby in college as well. A couple years after college, it was a pretty consistent slide into laziness until I started at Chicago Fit Performance.

3. Take us back to your first workout with CFP... what was it, and how did it feel?

My very first impression was: this isn’t so bad. About five or so minutes later my second impression was: I’m going to die, or maybe vomit and then die. When I got over that, I felt pretty great. 4. What do you like the most about CFP and why do you think our program works?

I like the constant challenge. There is a lot of variety and a lot of opportunity to scale the exercises to an appropriate level. I think it works because of the thought and energy Kosta puts into every workout. Once you step in the door, Kosta makes it easy to direct all your energy to getting in a great session.

5. When did you realize that Chicago Fit Performance was right for you?

Probably about halfway through the Transformation Challenge. I had lost over 20 pounds in 4 weeks and felt like I could accomplish my goals in a way I hadn’t before. With three kids, it can be hard to find time to do much of anything for myself, and exercising is often the first thing to be cut. The CFP workouts are the most efficient exercising I’ve ever done. I feel like I get more out of them than I have with other

workouts.

6. What is your favorite workout or your strongest attribute?

Box Jumps: I’m surprised every time I land one.

7. What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting Chicago Fit Performance (before/after)?

I’ve always been a bigger guy and relatively strong, but since joining starting at CFP, I feel like I have lot more control over my body. I’ve still got plenty of changes to make, but I feel like my body is much more useful, and there is a lot less useless bulk. It had been 15 years since I played rugby, and I never would have considered playing again without CFP. In the last year, I’ve played in about 10 matches and an amateur tournament in London against teams from around the world.

The most unexpected change was how much easier all my daily activities are. Carrying my kids upstairs and getting groceries from the car use to wind me. I don’t think there is anything in my daily routine anymore that makes me feel like I need to be in better shape.

8. What do you think about the coaches and the staff at CFP?

Kosta’s passion for continuously making Chicago Fit Performance better is unmatched. Every day he challenges us, and you can tell that he is constantly thinking in and outside the gym about ways to help us meet our goals. Developing and leading exercises is one thing, and at CFP the coaches are great about doing it, but it’s the thoughtful attention Kosta gives beyond the workouts that makes CFP more than just a gym.

9. How would you describe yourself in one word?

Pragmatic.

10. What is your favorite healthy food & “cheat” food?

Healthy food - Grass-fed, medium-rare filet.

Cheat food - Bucket of hotwings.

11. What is something that we don’t know about you? (Your hobbies, interesting fact, accomplishment you are proud of, obscure/unique talent, funny story, etc.)

I can juggle and solve a Rubik’s cube. But not at the same time.

12. Do you have any advice for people that are on the fence of joining Chicago Fit Performance?

If there is anything about your fitness or nutrition you’d like to change, there isn’t a better way or place to do it. If you love exercising, you’ll get a lot out of CFP. If you don’t love exercising, but want to do it anyway, you won’t find a better use of your time. Dave's transformation...
